Winter Fun: Test shoot with Maconnie
A blustery cold day with the lovely model Maconnie and a vintage sled.
Hurricane Season
This week I got to photograph MMA fighter Travis The-Hurricane Reddinger. We got to The Academy Gym early so that we could get some portraits before he started his training for the day. He has an upcoming fight in Canada on Dec. 4th. Best of luck to you Travis!
Bomba
I have been wanting to do more video work for a while now. When I found out that my multi- tallented friend Tearra does Bomba Dancing I knew right away we had to do a project. The set up was very simple gelled back lights and lots of fog to add to the swirling/shaking movments of bomba. The video is in the works right now but here are a few photos we got once we finished shooting the video.
Dance With The Devil
Dance with the devil….Or take his photo. This is one of “many to come images” from a recent shoot for SixSpeed. If you don’t know who then are be sure to check out their website its full of awesome content. They are a creative agency/marketing I don’t really know how to label them besides just saying that SixSpeed just DOES.
The devil here is Glenn who is possibly the coolest and most out there guy I know. When I saw this outfit I knew we were in for something special.
Behind the Scenes Music Video
Last week I was on set of a music video shoot for a local rapper called Prizm. My friend Alex Horner was shooting the video as a one take Jake. A one take Jake means that the video is uncut, just a solid recording for the entire time. This gave us a couple of issues that needed to be smoothed out but in they end we got a great video.
Test Shoot: Running with Jodi
I had been wanting to shoot running for over a year now so a friend put me in contact with Jodi. She is a super badass mom, trainer and triathlete. She was more then excited to shoot and meet a total stranger “down by the river”. I am super happy with the outcome of our short shoot and look forward to doing some more work this summer with her.
Head Shot for Bryan
My friend, Bryan Pieper, was in need of a new headshot so he called me up. We had limited time because we were going to the Wild hockey game later that evening so I had everything set up and ready to go and with in 15 minutes we had the shot. By planning ahead and working out the kinks the shoot went smoothly and got what I was looking for quickly so we could go enjoy the game.
Quick Pick #5
Michael Hibbs is a Goon, possibly one of the most fun people on 2 skis. We went out to shoot a feature the other day then ran out onto the frozen lake at sunset to get a few lifestyle shots. I am happy with the outcome of our quick shoot and am stoked to get out with him more before the winter is over.
Faces: Fun with the canon 15mm 2.8 lens
I rented the canon 15mm lens the other day just for fun. You can get extremely close to your subject and still be in focus and get a cool distortion from the extremely wide angle of the lens (a full 180 degrees on my 5d). I shot a few portraits with it the other day while I was shooting with some freeskiers as well as a self portrait(myspace style no less).
